TNT Terminal Program

TNT is a terminal program for Amateur Packet Radio, which takes full advantage of the hostmode protocol  implementing features such as virtual screens for multiple traffic channels and providing various interfaces enabling it to communicate with other software packages such as tfkiss and dpbox. TNT was originally written by Mark Wahl and is now maintained by Matthias Hensler (WS1LS). Matthias is also maintaining a very comprehensive web-site with information on tnt and other packet radio related topics.

My involvement with TNT goes back to January 1999 after searching for a terminal program compatible with the MFJ1270B TNC2 modem. The chief reason for choosing TNT was, that it didn't require kernel based support for the AX25 protocol, which isn't available on NetBSD. It took only a few hours of tinkering with the source code before TNT was up and running. At this point, I like to take the opportunity to thank Matthias Hensler and crew for indulging me and merging my patches into the source code which added support for NetBSD to TNT.

User Support

The easiest way in staying informed and receiving support is by subscribing to one of TNT's Mailing Lists. These mailing lists don't generate much traffic so it is quite save to give it a try. The following lists are available:

tnt-announce    - Important announcements about TNT

tnt-devel       - A forum for new ideas and developments

tnt-bugs        - A forum for reporting bugs found in TNT

To subscribe to any of the above lists, send an email to [email protected] and add a line with the following syntax into the message body:

    subscribe <LIST>

where <LIST> is one of the above mailing lists.

Alternatively, the maintainers can be contacted by email
